In cases of pressure ulcers, frequent repositioning and the use of specialized mattresses can help reduce pressure. If arterial insufficiency is present, improving blood flow through medications, lifestyle changes, or surgical interventions may be necessary. For all chronic wounds, ongoing monitoring by healthcare professionals is essential to adapt the treatment plan as needed and to prevent complications such as infection.
